Isabel Lambrecht is a Research Fellow working in the Development Strategies and Governance Unit of the International Food Policy Research Institute (IFPRI). She is currently based in Dushanbe, Tajikistan, where she engages in research and outreach activities to support evidence-based policymaking and in-country capacity building. Prior to this, she lived in Myanmar where she was working in the Myanmar Agricultural Policy Support Activity (MAPSA), and in Ghana where she worked in the Ghana Strategy Support Program (GSSP). Her research interests span a wide range of topics, including agricultural and rural development, gender, agricultural technology adoption, land tenure, food and nutrition security, poverty, and survey methodology. She is experienced in topical qualitative and quantitative data collection, as well as in regionally and nationally representative large-scale in-person and phone-based survey data collection. She has successfully published in a range of peer reviewed journals employing quantitative as well as qualitative research methods. Prior to joining IFPRI, she obtained her PhD in agricultural economics from KU Leuven University, Belgium, focusing on gender and integrated soil fertility management in Eastern DRCongo and Burundi.
