Dr Wyn Ellis is Executive Director of the Sustainable Rice Platform, a multi-stakeholder initiative dedicated to transformation of the global rice sector through market-led and development-driven scaling partnerships. Based in Asia for the past 38 years, he has contributed in diverse roles working with bilateral and multilateral development partners, governments, academia, the private sector and NGOs both in Asia and Africa. His specific expertise includes agro-innovation, organic and sustainable food systems, pest management and climate change.
With a Ph.D. from Chulalongkorn University in Thailand and M.As from Oxford and Reading Universities in UK, he has published a number of academic publications and book chapters and served on the Editorial Board of several international journals.
