Anjum Munir

Dr. Anjum Munir is a Professor and Chairman in the Department of Energy Systems Engineering, Faculty of Agricultural Engineering and Technology, University of Agriculture Faisalabad Pakistan. He is also working as Director in Punjab Bioenergy Institute, UAF. He has about 20 years teaching and research experience and about 10 years technical experience as an Engineer/Sr. Engineer in the mechanical department of sugar industry. He holds a PhD degree in Agricultural and Biosystems Engineering from University of Kassel, Germany. His PhD thesis was selected among best 7 theses in VDI (Verein Deutscher Ingeneur) German Engineering Council (2010). His main focused research areas are solar thermal and photovoltaic systems, bioenergy, energy conservation and auditing measures, energy storage to provide sustainable energy solutions for community development. He has published more than 100 research publication mainly on various aspects Engineering and Energy having citation score of 1684 (h-index = 22). He has also developed 08 solar based technologies for value addition of agricultural product. Dr. Munir is an approved PhD supervisor from Higher Education Commission (HEC) Pakistan and has supervised 05 PhDs students and 63 MS students as major supervisor and 45 as member of supervisory committee during his teaching tenure. He has successfully completed more than 20 need based research projects on solar and bioenergy. He has won competitive grant of “Professorship” under Ela Bhatt Professorship funded by German Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) through the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) Germany. Dr. Munir participated as Resource Person from Pakistan at Solar World Congress 2011.

He has provided consultancy services as a team leader to Government of Punjab and has installed more 2300 Solar Drip Irrigation Systems in the Punjab Province for energy and water conservation. Dr. Munir has the honor to be awarded three (03) patents registered with “The Patent Office, Government of Pakistan. He has won four consecutive times “Research Productivity Awards” from the Pakistan Council for Science and Technology, Ministry of Science and Technology, Government of Pakistan and is ranked at top 37 scientists in list of “Productive Scientists of the country” from the discipline of Engineering Sciences.
